SCOR Model

The SCOR Model (Supply Chain Operations Reference), developed in association with the Supply Chain Council, provides a framework linking business processes, metrics, best practices and technology features. It enables users to address, improve, and communicate supply chain management practices and improves communication between supply chain partners through the use of common definitions and language, facilitating benchmarking through the use of these common standards.

The Model is made up of a number of building blocks (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver and Return) which can be used to describe both simple and complex supply chains using the common definitions and language. As a result, understanding and sharing of best practice across industries is faciliated. The Model include an evolving repository of best supply chain practices which companies can use to develop their supply chain strategies.

The Core Model has been enhanced through the development of additional modules (DCOR for Design Chain and CCOR for Customer Chain) and through integration with Lean Six Sigma and Performance Based Logistics techniques.

Lean Business France has been certified in the use of the SCOR model, and uses its flexible modelling capabilities to develop a thorough understanding of a company's supply chain, before driving into more detail using Value Stream Mapping and other Lean tools and merthods.

For further information on SCOR or on how it could use to develop benchmarking and best practice in your company, please contact us at contact@leanbusiness.fr.
